Influenza (flu) is a respiratory tract illness caused by influenza viruses. Influenza can be caused by the two subtypes of influenza A virus, H1N1 and H3N3, and influenza B virus. According to The Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health, Influenza vaccine is a safe and effective way in preventing seasonal influenza and its complications. Except those with known contraindication, it is suggested that members of the public aged 6 months and above should receive vaccine annually for seasonally protection.
